This should be fun: Washington winemaker Charles Smith is doing a Reddit AMA on Tuesday. Smith opened his first winery, K Vinters, in Walla Walla 13 years ago. He's since won Food & Wine's Winemaker of the Year award and was recently named 2014's Wine Enthusiast Winemaker of the Year.
While it's safe to assume questions will veer into "advice for people who want to work in wine" territory, Smith might be a good person to ask for dinner party soundtrack recommendations--rumor has it he managed bands including the Cardigans and The Raveonettes while living in Scandinavia. The AMA starts at 2 p.m. PST.
Smith is building out a 32,000-square-foot winery, tasting room, and event space in Georgetown. It's scheduled to debut this spring.
