Capitol Hill is ending 2014 with yet another new restaurant: Chavez. CHS reports that the 12th Ave. concept from Trevor Greenwood (formerly of Cantinetta) is on track to open in the 12th and Howell microhousing right around Christmas.

Duranguense chef Gabriel Chavez is moving from Cantinetta to Chavez to head up the new Mexican concept, which will feature a menu of tacos, small plates, tequila and mezcal. The food and decor will be inspired by the city of Durango in northern Mexico. Greenwood is adding a garage door for summer use, as well as an eventual patio when the weather warms.
