NW Seattleites can now eat "Made On Demand" pizza without driving to the Seattle Center or the U-District. MOD's new Ballard flagship in the former Ivar's location is now open on 15th Ave. The outpost includes beer on tap, a "huge" pizza oven that burns at 800 degrees, and outdoor seating.

It's a busy week for the six-year-old, Seattle-based pizza chain that secured $15M in funding last May. Just this week, the company launched a store in Kent and opened its second location in Houston. MOD has plans to expand into more states, including North Carolina and Idaho.

KING 5 just ran a feature on the company's decision to hire "convicted felons" because it "has no fear of welcoming those with RAP sheets." Watch a segment highlighting the positive experiences of some of the dozens of employees given "a second chance" as MOD employees.
