The Rendezvous and Jewel Box Theater owner Jerry Everard (Neumos, MoeBar, Barboza, Spitfire) has brought on Top Chef season 9 contestant Simon Pantet to lead the kitchen crew. Born in Columbia and raised in Switzerland, Pantet cut his teeth at Madrona Ale House in 2011 and was cast on Top Chef later that year. "They flew twenty-nine chefs down to San Antonio where our first dish was to use pork. When I first saw the pork, I knew I wanted to make pork tenderloin but I ended up getting stuck with the pork butt," Pantet says. "Most of us didn’t survive the first found."
Pantet returned to Seattle and ran Urban Nomad food truck for three years before moving to The Rendezvous. Random fun fact: he's a kickboxer.
The chef's new menu winks at the Rendezvous’ original 1926 food list, including throwbacks like griddle cakes and deviled eggs with caviar and comfort food, including pulled pork sliders and house-fried potato chips.
