Taylor Shellfish is bringing their fresh seafood to Pioneer Square, and Eater has all the details on their next two locations. The folks who opened the Melrose Market oyster bar and seafood market in 2011 confirmed to Zagat in November that they'd be expanding to Queen Anne, and now Taylor president Jeff Pearson has the details for Eater.
"The concept is a casual neighborhood oyster bar. It's about all things oyster from daily deliveries from the farm to the table offering the freshest oysters everywhere. It will be served by competent knowledgeable staff who will know where and how each oyster is served. We'll have a select list of wines and spirits that complement the oyster, in addition to serving clams, mussels, and chowders made to order."
The Queen Anne bar will be located in the EXPO apartments retail space at 118 Republican St. on street level, and will have 54 seats inside and 48 seats outside for summertime dining and drinking. They're quickly moving through the construction phase and expect to be open by late April 2014.
The Pioneer Square location was first pointed out by the neighborhood's development association, with a Twitter pic showing off their temporary sign just down from Rain Shadow Meats on Occidental Ave S. While they're still awaiting final construction contracts to be signed, they expect to open for business by July 1.
