Starbucks baristas will soon be counting less coins from the tip jar. Beginning March 19 customers using the latest version of the Starbucks iPhone app will be able to digitally tip employees at 7,000 stores across the country. In addition to an option for adding gratuity of $0.50, $1.00, or $2.00 straight from phones, the app update includes a new "shake to pay" feature that speeds up the payment process by displaying Starbucks Card barcodes directly on screen with a jiggle.
