Jinya Ramen Opens; Mod Pizza Expands

EXPANSIONWIRE— Six-year-old "fast-casual" pizza chain Mod is growing. Fast. Puget Sound Business Journal reports that the Bellevue-based company is 80 percent through a huge round of fundraising that will support more than 100 new stores. In addition to adding locations in Washington, Oregon, and the LA-area, shops are planned for the Bay Area, Phoenix, Houston, and eventually Chicago and the East Coast. [PSBJ]

LAKE CITY— Elliott Bay Brewing Co.'s Lake City location celebrates its second birthday this weekend. Tomorrow from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., the perpetually kid-packed pub is bringing in magicians and face painters. [Twitter]
