QUEEN ANNE— Introverts, stop reading now. Lower Queen Anne's Toulouse Petit isn't holding anything back at today's Fat Tuesday party. Live music from the Market Street Dixie Band? Check. Masks, beads, and wacky hats? Check, check, check. The party began at 8 this morning and lasts through the wee hours. Face painting starts up at 5 p.m. [Facebook]
BALLARD— Hot Cakes offers a mellower option for toasting to Fat Tuesday tonight. Autumn Martin's Molten Chocolate Cakery is serving boozy shakes, including a seasonal concoction of Crème Yvette, lemon curd, and Bluebird vanilla ice cream, until 11 p.m. [Facebook]
BALLARD— Paseo's Shilshole location started keeping Sunday hours last month. The Sunset Hill shop was so busy last week that it ran out of bread in about an hour, but staff confirms that the kitchen is tripling their loaf supply before this week's service. Sundays hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and might extend until 9 p.m. in the summer; the Fremont store remains closed on Sundays. Last week, Yelp ranked the sandwich shop #2 on its Top 100 Places to Eat in the U.S. list. [Facebook]
