Homegrown is expanding to the Eastside. Co-founder Ben Friedman tells Eater he's opening a location in Kirkland in a former Tully's store on Lake and Kirkland Way by mid-summer. He's also launching an outpost of the "sustainable sandwich shop" in a restored a 100-year-old former bank in Redmond by the end of summer. Friedman has his hands full: Homegrown is now growing produce on Sprouting Farm, its certified organic land in Woodinville. [EaterWire]
