Starbucks Serves Soda; New Breweries and Barbecue

LYNNWOOD— New "roadside-style" Moonshine BBQ just opened its doors near Edmonds Community College north of Seattle, according to Zagat. In addition to protein smoked "low and slow," the new barbecue spot serves crawfish mac and cheese, poutine, and—it gets heart healthier—deep-fried ravioli. Wash it down with any of a dozen "moonshines" or a mint Julep. [Zagat]

BALLARD— Make room for a new brewery, people of Ballard. 2nd Chance Brewing opened shop across the street from Stoup on 52nd St., reports WA Beer Blog. A tasting room is in the works as well. Also, Urban Family Brewing will now make beer in an offsite location in Interbay that will fit a new, a bigger brewing system. The Ballard Ave. Urban Family Public House will remain open. BUCKSWIRE— Starbucks just kicked off its "White Cup Contest." Mark up a latte cup and post a photo on Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #whitecupcontest; the winning art will be printed on a reusable mug. In other news, the U.S. and Asia can now brace for "handcrafted" Fizzio sodas from the coffee giant. Ginger ale, lemon ale, and spiced root beer will be added to the menu of 3,000 Starbucks stores come summer. [-EN-]
