BALLARD—Essex is turning into a taco-slash-tiki bar on Tuesday nights starting May 27, reports Nosh Pit. The cocktail spot attached to Delancey will borrow the pizzeria's oven to roast meat and vegetables, which will be stuffed in house-made masa tortillas. Plus, dulce de leche ice cream. [Nosh Pit]

BELLTOWN—Food writer and former Gourmet editor Ruth Reichl will sign copies of her new book Delicious! A Novel at a three-course lunch at Dahlia Lounge on Thursday. Eater recently spoke with Reichl about her first work of fiction and more. [EaterWire]

DOWNTOWN—If you happen to miss Giggles, you'll probably want to know that a new comedy club, restaurant, and bar called Parlor Live Seattle will open May 23 in the former Fox Sports Grill location on Sixth Ave. The sibling to Parlor Billiards in Bellevue will serve "steakhouse-inspired" entrees, pizzas, and "craft sliders" in a dining room and bar that seats more than 200.
