Hummingbird Bringing Fresh Juice to Market St.

Juice bar and lunch spot Hummingbird is about to open in the former Savour space on Market St. Owner Keely Fetters worked at the old Gravity Bar on Broadway for five years and more recently at Ballard Ave.'s Volterra. A Ballard resident for the past six years, Fetters says she "came to a point where it was time to either travel the world or invest in a nest egg."

Fetters says the concept is simple: "Getting back to real juice." Hummingbird will serve a full menu of liquified fruits and vegetables, plus smoothies blended with yogurt and other ridiculously healthy add-ons like spirulina, hemp seeds, and bee pollen.

Fetters is finalizing the menu, which she says will include three organic salads, black bean and coconut rice wraps, rapini paninis, homemade soup, and raw cheesecake and other desserts.

Hummingbird is planning to open June 1, right in time for the start of summer.
