This morning, Seattle chefs, including Jason Franey from Canlis and Ethan Stowell, competed in a salmon cook-off marking the beginning of Copper River salmon season. After a Navy Reservist started the event with "a ceremonial fish head kick-off" (there's video) the chefs spent 30 minutes preparing a salmon dish using a fish flown from Alaska to Sea-Tac; chef John Howie took the prize for the second year straight.
