Inside the Adventurous Damn the Weather, Now Open in Pioneer Square

It's up for friendly debate whether Pioneer Square or Capitol Hill is the most exciting place in Seattle to eat and drink, but the former gets a big check in the plus column today when Damn the Weather officially swings open its doors. The cocktail spot with an intriguing food and drink list is the first project from Bryn Lumsden. Before branching out, the former Fleet Foxes member spent years working at venerable bars around town, including Rob Roy and the dearly departed Vessel.

The menu from The Walrus and the Carpenter alum Eli Dahlin is split into bar food (marinated olives and apricots, fries with curry mayo) and plates (beef tongue tartare, pastrami burger, duck hot dogs.) House cocktails hover around $10, including a Rum and Rye Old Fashioned and Agricultural Punch ("a farmer's rum and coke") with Rhum Agricole, raw sugarcane juice, and lime.

Hours are 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. seven days a week.
