Single Shot Headed for Summit Ave.

Single Shot is coming to Capitol Hill. CHS reports that the new bar and restaurant is taking over the longtime gallery of photographer Spike Mafford next to Top Pot on Summit Ave. (Sound familiar? Mafford's work hangs all over Mezcaleria Oaxaca in Capitol Hill and Queen Anne and La Carta de Oaxaca in Ballard.) The upcoming project is poised to liven up the small strip of food and drink spots on Summit that also includes Sun Liquor, Toscana Pizza, and Summit Public House.

The 1,000-square-foot space will seat just over 40 diners and be operated by Mafford, Rory McCormick (Re:public, formerly Post) and chef James Sherrill (formerly on staff at Crush and Restaurant Zoe.)

In addition to a bar program, the menu is going to be veg heavy, with food "spiked with ingredients like bottarga, caviar and offal." Plus, a stone oven for flatbread. Look for doors to open by the end of summer.
