Ändra Loft Bar, the new watering hole from Tom Douglas next to his Hot Stove Society cooking school is set to open next week, pending final fire permits. A stone's throw from Lola on the mezzanine inside Hotel Ändra, the project's name has shifted from Lök Bar to Ändra Bar, but a Douglas rep tells Eater they've settled on Ändra Loft Bar. Whatever it's called, the bartenders will mix complimentary drinks for students in Hot Stove classes and serve cocktails and small plates for everyone else.
Ändra Loft Bar's menu includes Zagat-approved Swedish meatballs, kippered black cod, and salmon gravlax on potato pancakes. The drink list features a "Scandinavian tiki" with Swedish punch, orgeat, and ginger aquavit, plus plenty of beer brewed in Ballard. The bar will be open daily.
