FIREWORKS!— If the idea of braving Seattle traffic in order to cram yourself into Gas Works Park doesn't fit, there are plenty of other July 4 fireworks shows for you. Whether you're in Renton, Bellevue, Bainbridge Island, Kirkland, or Edmonds, you've got plenty of options for big, bright sparkly lights in the sky. Check out 12 Puget Sound area options.

PIONEER SQUARE— July 4th marks the 100th anniversary of the iconic building that first put Seattle on the map: Smith Tower. To celebrate, the building will be host to a series of parties, contests and events, including $0.25 admission all weekend long. Check out Curbed's photo history of the historic building.

MARIJUANA— Come July 7, a select few marijuana retail stores will open across Washington State and Cannabis City in SoDo will be the only one in Seattle. They plan to have 10 lbs of weed on hand in the morning and absolutely none leftover by the time they close. Find out where to get in line.
