RAINIER BEACH—This past Saturday, more than twenty volunteers gathered at the Rainier Beach Urban Farm to help construct gardens for Rainier Valley's low-income population. Curbed was there to delve into how urban agriculture is rebuilding community space and changing the way some in Seattle eat.

FOR RENT— Rents are going through the roof but that doesn't mean there still around some quality places to call home on the cheap(ish). Curbed searched out five decent spots across Seattle that you can rent right now for $1,000/mo. Believe it or not, they're not all studios.

PIKE PLACE—Six years ago, Touchstone Corp. announced plans for a hotel/apartment project at 1st and Stewart. They're finally breaking ground on the 160-room hotel and 97-upscale apartment complex and expect to be finished by early 2016. In the meantime, check out the renderings.
