Jason Stratton's Eight-Month-Old Aragona Will Shutter in September, Reopen as Vespolina

Aragona, the eight-month-old downtown Spanish restaurant from Jason Stratton, will close in early September. But it's not the end: As any devotee of the chef's two Capitol Hill Italian concepts Spinasse and Artusi can attest, Stratton kills it when it comes to Italian cooking. So it's not shocking that he's nixing the Spanish-inspired Aragona and reopening a (more tourist-friendly) Italian restaurant called Vespolina.

Aragona is serving a five-course, "greatest hits" prix fixe from now until it closes September 6. The restaurant reopens as Vespolina with a new menu in place on September 8; the dining room's interior will remain unchanged. Stay tuned for details.
