Schilling Cider House opens soon with stats that rival or beat most beer-based tasting rooms and many bars: Expect 32 tap ciders and more than 250 craft ciders in the bottle at the Fremont spot near Milstead & Co. and Old School Frozen Custard. Draft ciders will be poured by the pint or offered in tasting flights—one or two of those taps will be reserved for rotating beers for the apple-phobic. The space will seat around 50, and while there's no kitchen, cider drinkers can order delivery from local restaurants or carry-in food.

Owner Colin Schilling started producing cider in 2012 using local apples in chai, ginger, oak-aged, and other seasonal ciders. Schilling officially opens his cider house next Saturday, September 6: Free growlers will be handed out to the first 1,000 fill purchasers. And doors might unlock for soft opening this weekend.
