50 North has quickly, quietly closed its doors across from University Village. News broke over the weekend via a mass email from owner Melinda Sontgerath thanking customers for support and "allowing us to be part of your wonderful community."
The more than 3,000-square-foot restaurant called a "hit parade of American standards" by The Seattle Times launched on New Year's Eve in 2010. Sontgerath continues to operate her other restaurant, the Hardware Store on Vashon Island.
