[Inside Suika's Vancouver Location. Photo: Suika]
It's too early to call it a trend, but it's a good sign that a couple of months after a rumor leaked that Vancouver's beloved Meat & Bread is headed for Capitol Hill, another favorite from north of the border is coming to that neighborhood: Suika.
The super fresh Izakaya snack bar is moving into the former 611 Supreme space on Pine St. And if the menu looks anything like Suika's Vancouver outpost then it's very ok to start getting excited this second:
There's Chinese Poutine (fries topped with spicy pork sauce, chili oil, sansho, and mozzarella,) The Hellz Chicken (fried with fiery "hell sauce") and a menu section called "No Sushi, No Life."
It's also worth mentioning that Suika's award-winning sister restaurant Kingyo kills it with fresh juice cocktails squeezed tableside and an uber popular bento box.
There's no firm opening day details quite yet, except that Suika will be opening "very, very soon."
