Elliott's Oyster House Is (Temporarily) Shuttering; Northwest Tequila Fest

WATERFRONT—Elliott's Oyster House is temporarily closing beginning October 1, reports The Seattle Times. The restaurant, alongside its neighboring Cafe 56, will take a nine month break while construction on the Elliott Bay Seawall continues, then reopen July 1, 2015. The closure affects 200 employees. PHINNEY RIDGE— The largest tequila and mezcal tasting in the region happens at the Phinney Neighborhood Center on Saturday. This year's Northwest Tequila Fest includes food from Agave and Calle and samples of almost 150 tequilas and mezcals, plus beer and cocktails. At last check, $45 tickets were still available. FIRE RELIEF— Ballard's Kickin' Boot Whiskey Kitchen and all four Matador locations (Ballard, West Seattle, Tacoma, Redmond) are raising funds to help victims of the Carlton Complex Wildfire in Eastern Washington State. All profit from today's sales will be donated to Band of Brothers Northwest, who will distribute gift cards for food, water, and medical supplies to assist families in need. [EaterWire]
