Bitter/Raw Preview at Hot Stove; BBQ From Restaurant Zoe's Scott Staples?

KIRKLAND—Holly Smith's Cafe Juanita is expanding and the chef is purchasing her restaurant's property, reports The Seattle Times. An addition to the building, which was once a winery, will be finished sometime in the spring of 2015 and include a new bar. [ST]

RUMOURMONGERING— Chef/restaurateur Scott Staples (Restaurant Zoe, Quinn's, Uneeda Burger) is working on a BBQ concept. Where? TBD. When? Also TBD. But Staples confirms with Eater that he's working "on securing a location," adding that one of his favorite spaces may not be open until spring, but "there's a few others that could come together sooner." BELLTOWN— Lark chef John Sundstrom is preparing food and cocktails from the menu of Bitter/Raw, his upcoming Capitol Hill bar, at Hot Stove Society cooking school in Belltown on August 16. $75 tickets are bound to be gone in an instant, so get on it.
