Checking In On Lark, Bitter/Raw and Slab Sandwiches + Pie

Screen Shot 2014-09-10 at 12.11.01 PM.pngWith the opening of Big Chickie yesterday and Quality Athletics and Trove this weekend, the restaurants populating Eater's fall anticipated openings list are slowly, surely becoming a reality. Skipping ahead a couple of months, chef John Sundstrom's Lark, raw and cocktail bar Bitter/Raw, and grab-and-go counter Slab Sandwiches + Pie in Capitol Hill's Central Agency building are on schedule. Construction is happening now: Floors are in the process of being refinished and the walls are being prepped for paint.

After more than a decade, Sundstrom is moving Lark from its 12th Ave. outpost to the new Auto Row space a few blocks away. The chef is also revamping Lark's menu and working with bar manager Mike McNett on the beverage program. Lark on 12th remains open through the end of October, then turns into an events space. The new Lark, Bitter/Raw, and Slab Sandwiches + Pie launch in early November.
