Fran's Chocolates opens in Georgetown this month more than a year after first announcing plans to relocate its headquarters from Capitol Hill to a 31,500-square-foot former brewery on Airport Way. The fully restored brick building includes a new production facility in what was once Rainier Brewing's cold storage space and a cafe and offices at the site of Rainier's original brewhouse.
Fran's Georgetown will include an espresso and drinking chocolate bar with cafe seating, a retail shop, tasting room, and a window to watch truffles, Gold Bars, and Obama-approved smoked salt caramels as they're made. The chocolatier officially opens on September 29.
