Capitol Hill's Single Shot Is On Track to Open This Month

Summit Ave. is about to get a new option for dining and imbibing.

Single Shot, the upcoming eatery next to Top Pot on Summit Ave., is inching closer to opening day. The 1,200-square-foot restaurant and bar from photographer Spike Mafford, Rory McCormick (Re:public, formerly Post) and chef James Sherrill (Re:public, ex-Crush, Restaurant Zoe) will seat about 40 and feature a stone oven for baking flatbread. The interior will include vintage elements, including salvaged parts from a former gun shop, notes Capitol Hill Times. Plus, custom booths and metalwork.

Mafford ran a studio and gallery in the space for more than two decades. He confirms with Eater that Single Shot is waiting on final permits and is on track to launch before the end of September. There's no Facebook page or website up and running, but stay close for opening day details.
