London Plane's Dinner Service; Best Barbecue in the U.S.

PIONEER SQUARE—The London Plane has launched a dinner service Wednesdays through Saturdays, with a themed menu on tap each night. Themes include chicken, pasta, fish, and couscous, and carries a $65 per couple price tag. Seats are offered by reservation or walk-in. [EaterWire]

BARBECUE WIRE—Barbecue enthusiast Johnny Fugitt has traipsed across the lower 48 for the better part of a year, seeking out the country's best barbecue. By October 22, he'll have visited 365 such restaurants as he writes a book titled The 100 Best Barbecue Restaurants in America. His favorite spot in Seattle was The Boar's Nest in Ballard for its ribs and fried mac-and-cheese balls. [EaterWire]

RESTAURANT WEEK—This year's Seattle Restaurant Week will take place October 19-23 and October 26-30 with three-course dinners for $30 and two-course lunches for $15. Among the new participants are Vespolina, Bell + Whete, Chiso Sushi, Szmanias, and Place Pigalle. Many restaurants will be offering fall-focused menus with ingredients like squash, pumpkin, foraged mushrooms, artichokes, and game meats. [EaterWire]
