Bacon waffles, wings, and sliders start now.

Nate's officially opens shop today in Rainier Beach. If you missed the backstory, here's a quick recap: Originally called Fat's, the wings and waffles concept was hatched by Marcus Lalario, (Li'l Woody's) and Darren McGill (Happy Grillmore.) The business partnership amicably dissolved last summer, with Lalario keeping the name and McGill holding on to his recipes and the space at 9261 57th Ave S.

Brilliantly, McGill brought Nate Robinson on as an owner (Robinson went to high school down the road) and renamed the restaurant after the NBA player. After a preview last weekend, Nate's swings the doors open today.

Eat a light lunch to make room for beef sliders, chicken wings and strips with housemade dipping sauces like chipotle BBQ and buffalo, and bacon waffles. Plus, salt and pepper fries, greens, and mac and cheese.

Nate's is the first of a few new restaurants coming to Rainier Beach, including Jude's from the owner of Lottie's Lounge and a rumored vegetarian restaurant.
