After operating as a joint venture with Japan-based Sazaby League, Starbucks is about to take hold of its operations in Japan. Eater National reports that the acquisition will take place in two phases and total a sum of around $914 million; Sazaby is selling about 60.5 percent of its ownership stake to the Seattle-based coffee company.
There are currently approximately 1,050 Starbucks outposts in Japan with room to grow into grocery stores and product sales.
