Queen Anne's Historic Streamline Tavern is Staying Alive

Streamline Tavern, the venerable watering hole with a lineage that began in the mid-1950s, is not shuttering for good when its building at 121 W Mercer St. is demolished next year to make room for a new Korean consulate building. Owner (and former P-I columnist) Mike Lewis confirms with Eater that a deal for the Streamline to move into the current Jabu's Pub space at 174 Roy St. closes on Monday. Jabu's is hosting a farewell party this Saturday.

Streamline's current lease ends December 31. "We'll run both places for a while and then figure out the move/merger in the next couple of weeks," Lewis explains. Announcements about the closure of longtime Seattle restaurants and bars keep on breaking, which makes news that the Lower Queen Anne dive is moving instead of closing even better.
