Following temporary closures last week due to Snoqualmie's Ice Cream's recall, all Molly Moon's locations unlocked their doors Friday. Via Facebook:
happy news! we're open for business! while we were waiting to get fresh milk and cream, we used that time to sanitize our shops and kitchens and test all our equipment and ingredients to make sure that everyone is safe. thank you so much for all of your support these last few days! we've gotten a lot of love from our customers and community and it means the world to us. we're so excited to reopen all our shops today, and hope you'll come visit us for the first weekend of 2015!
Using Snoqualmie to pasteurize ingredients for their base, Molly Moon's and local chain Full Tilt shuttered all retail outposts last week in order to sanitize equipment and make new ice cream with sugar and cream from other sources.
Molly Moon's discarded almost $25,000 worth of ice cream, Full Tilt threw out nearly $20,000 worth of product. Full Tilt's scoop shops reopened on December 26.
Local ice creameries Bluebird and Parfait were unaffected by the recall.
