NORTHEAST Portland's first cat cafe, Purrington's Cat Lounge, is now open and it's actually quite cool. It has that typical, hipster-leaning Portland vibe with industrial-chic exposed concrete. Basically, it's a cafe with a fancy cat shelter next door, and you can watch the kitties while you sip Extracto Coffee and Jasmine Pearl teas.

CLASSICS WEEK For Eater's classics week, Portland rounded up 25 of the city's most iconic dishes, and it's a serious must-eat list of all the top restaurants. Sure, there's expected entries like Pok Pok wings and Voodoo Doughnuts, but there are also more hidden treasures like Higgins' whole hog plate.

DOWNTOWN AND NW 23RDTwo of Portland's favorite morning sweet shops are expanding. Nuvrei bakery is opening its second outpost in Downtown's US Bancorp tower (aka Big Pink), and ever-popular Blue Star Donuts is opening its fourth location on NW 23rd.
