Hula Hula Anniversary; Sazerac Temporarily Closes

DOWNTOWN — Sazerac is temporarily closed this week for back-of-house renovations. They'll be replacing flooring and refrigeration systems and opening again on Saturday at 8 a.m. for brunch. [EaterWire]

ICE CREAM WIRE — Molly Moon's ice cream shops made news recently when a listeria scare forced the local chain to shutter. Molly Moon Neitzel herself is also making waves with a blog post yesterday on the U.S. Department of Labor's blog. LOWER QUEEN ANNE — Hula Hula is celebrating its 8th anniversary with a pig roast and luau party on January 14. Festivities kick off with a prix fixe luau menu available from 4 p.m. to midnight. The bar is offering $4 off all Tiki menu drinks and karaoke will run from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. A 10 p.m. luau contest will reward the winner with a $100 gift certificate. Flower print is encouraged.
