We've known for a while that Shaun McCrain, formerly the chef at the Book Bindery (the now-closed Hommage), is planning to open a restaurant called Copine. The details are slowly emerging on the restaurant described as offering "refined cuisine as well as a higher-end daytime take away concept."
After more than a year of searching, McCrain and his wife Jill Kinney have told Seattle Met that they'll open Copine at NW 65th and 24th Ave NW in the Ballard Public Lofts and Market building. You'll have to wait until mid-2016 to try the food.
The expectations are high for Copine given McCrain's background. He worked at Thomas Keller's Per Se in Manhattan for four years, and also at Les Elysees du Vernet and Taillevent in Paris.
