Good news, Middle Eastern food fans. Just when we thought the new 6th Ave Amazon build-out couldn't possibly top the addition of Marination to the line up, Jason Stratton has announced that Mamnoon will be joining in the fun with a brand new restaurant also coming to the complex.
The current Top Chef "Cheftestant" posted an Instagram picture on December 16 about the opening of Mamnoon Street, writing simply, "Coming soon to downtown Seattle!"
He further noted that the new restaurant will be in the regrade when Amazon builds out its new complex in South Lake Union. Besides Mamnoon and Marination, Skillet will be in the complex alongside other local restaurants.
Although no other information has been released about the new place, Stratton's hashtags indicate that the popular Mamnoon lunch window items will be on offer, including mana'eesh, shawarma, and falafel. In a recent interview with City Arts, Stratton also mentioned that he will be at the helm of South Lake Union rooftop restaurant Mbar when it opens in 2016. Whether they're one and the same, in the same neck of the woods, or just doubling up on bringing legit Middle Eastern food to the neighborhood remains to be seen.
