Since opening Ballard Pizza Company in 2012, in the heart of Old Ballard, chef and restaurateur Ethan Stowell and his wife and business partner, Angela Dunleavy Stowell, had a second child and moved out of the pizzeria's delivery area in Ballard to neighboring Phinney Ridge. Fear no longer, babysitters to the Stowell's children and neighbors in Seattle's Northwest quadrant, the power couple is opening a second pizzeria, Frēllard Pizza Company, on 4010 Leary Way Northwest between Seattle's Fremont and Ballard neighborhood.
The build out started this week next to Tray Kitchen, the Korean fusion restaurant serving dim sum and a al carte dishes since last fall.
The new pizzeria, expected to debut in June, will be open from 4 to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursdays, 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Delivery, available daily from 5 to 10 p.m., of Stowell's zesty Staple & Fancy pie (pepperoni, pineapple, jalapeño), the hearty Whole Hog (spicy coppa, guanciale, speck, prosciutto di parma) and other specialties will expand north to 85th Ave, south to the Lake Washington Ship Canal, east to Aurora Avenue and west to the Puget Sound, which includes the Stowell's new home.
"We are too busy at Ballard Pizza Company," Ethan explained. "We need another location to handle delivery."
Marty Penner, who opened the Ballard Pizza Company will be the general manager at Frēllard Pizza Company.
