The new bar replaces Ballard's Azteca.

Back in September, Eater reported that Ballard's beloved Azteca would be replaced by a new venture called Hotel Albatross. Few details were available then, but Hotel Albatross is now open and here's the scoop.

The new spot consists of a cocktail bar and a walk-up window through which you may order tacos, dubbed Sexy Alley Puffy Tacos. In addition to tacos, the kitchen is creating tortas, tamales, totchos, and skewers. The drinks menu is made up of so-called "exotic cocktails" like punches and daiquiris. The venture is owned by Zach Harjo of Ocho next door, and Andrew Church of the nearby Hazelwood.

Azteca closed a year ago this month after 40 years in business.
