Robert Wanderer stumbled upon the genesis for his new Bellevue restaurant over a decade ago, on a trip to Vienna, Austria. Cold and desperate for a meal, he discovered a sausage kiosk and scarfed his first bratwurst. After spending time in restaurant kitchens, Wanderer decided to open a place of his own.
Late last year, Wanderer launched WunderBrat, an ode to his memories of Austria. Diners can choose from among brats and sausages enclosed in a pretzel roll or French roll. The menu also includes an array of pretzels, pretzel bites, and pretzel sticks for dipping. WunderBrat gets its brats, etc. from Uli's Famous Sausages.
