Although Sundays are the chosen day for many restaurants to really turn up their brunch game, it’s about time another popular spot opened for Saturday morning fare. Percy’s & Co’s Chef Derek May tells Eater the always-packed bar will start slinging brunch on Saturday, March 21 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with an hour of normal service after before getting crazy with a 4 p.m. happy hour.
No matter how many new spots crop up in Ballard, Percy’s has only gotten busier in recent months, 18 months after opening on Ballard Ave. Chef May started working the line in October, in what he describes as "a kitchen smaller than your average food truck" meant to serve a 140-seat restaurant.
The live music popular on Sundays will also make an appearance, and the brunch menu for both days will get a little overhaul. It won’t change dramatically, May says, but the shrimp & grits that have been such a hit will be getting the boot.
