Finally, after last week’s restaurant-closing bloodbath, some good restaurant news is here: Pam’s Kitchen in Wallingford is opening this week, and dinner is served.
Pam Jacobs closed the University Way location after nearly nine years on the corner of 50th Ave NE, after teaching Seattle what Trinidadian food is and creating a city of roti addicts. Although she relocated temporarily to her Eastlake Ave lunch kitchen location in November 2013, they operate with limited hours, Monday through Friday from 11am-4pm.
The soft opening of the Wallingford location (1715 N 45th St) is tonight, starting at 5:30pm. It was announced on the restaurant’s Facebook page, inviting fans but letting them know they’re "still working diligently to tie up loose ends and work out any kinks that may come with setting up a new restaurant."
The plan is to have a full-service bar, with lunch, dinner, and late night food served daily. Let the jerk chicken craze begin again...
