James Beard Award winning chef/owner Holly Smith said, “It is all contingent on construction. At this moment I think that [leaving in mid June] will give us time to move out and move back into our home. I don't want to rush the move in. We will finally have a neat and new space and I don't want to throw things into it!”
As of now, the favorite Kirkland restaurant is scheduled to reopen in mid July open with “beautiful new spaces and a patio for summer lounge enjoyment,” Smith said.
Through June, the Seattle pop-up will continue to serve a tasting menu four nights a week, Wednesday through Saturday, for $135 (typically eight courses). A beverage pairing is also available for $85 as well as a select wine list; their complete wine list is available with two days’ notice (to allow them time to pull bottles from storage). Diners can order à la carte from the tasting menu on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and from the three bar seats in the restaurant any time. Make reservations here; there is a seven-day cancellation policy. With advance notice, Smith can accommodate most dietary restrictions.
Next Thursday, April 9, the Juanita pop-up will host a winemaker’s dinner with Giorgio Rivetti from La Spinetta, starting with a wine reception at 6:30 p.m., then a five- to six-course dinner with pairings ($295 per person; retail wines available for purchase). Reserve space for this event calling 425.823.1505 or emailing jerald@cafejuanita.com.
