Trago Mexican Kitchen Will Open This Month on South Lake Union

Trago is back and this time, it’s sitting on the water

It’s a little confusing. First, there was Trago Cocina and Lounge on Westlake Ave N in South Lake Union. Then last April, owner Troy Selland (also of Citrus) replaced Trago entirely with a club called Forum. By the end of this month, however, Forum will close and Trago will be back, albeit with a slightly different name and location. Trago Mexican Kitchen will sit lakeside in the old Chandler’s Cove/Hooters at 901 Fairview Ave N.

Expect "authentic Mexican" fare, says general manager Michael Keyser, including bacon-wrapped, goat cheese-stuffed jalapeno rellenos, and signature cocktails like the sauve, made with Anejo tequila, pineapple, lime, and agave nectar. Happy hour will run 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. to close. The plan is to add brunch service and — come April — a waterside patio. —Sara Jones
