COFFEE WIRE — Rest stops along highways in Washington have long served free coffee (with a suggested donation) thanks to volunteer groups, but the signs advertising such have been absent since 2012. The state determined it was unsafe for volunteers to be out on the roadways flipping the signs over, so they nixed them altogether. Donations plummeted as a result. The state has come up with new, static signs, in place now. [MyNorthwest.com]
