What makes outdoor dining even better? Fire, of course, and Brimmer and Heeltap is heating up their patio appeal just in time for summer. Owner Jen Doak reports that they are extending their rear garden space to add 12 more seats, a fire pit, covered outdoor seating, and an outdoor bar. The expansion will involve remodeling a studio currently on the property that they have been using as a pantry.
Acting as a normal extension of the main restaurant, the patio space will have the same full menu as available indoors, and Doak says that she and chef Mike Whisenhunt anticipate using the back studio for overflow on Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Other days of the week they will use it to host special events and private parties.
"Mike and I are both excited about having an expanded outdoor dining area that is relaxed and removed from the hustle and bustle," Doak says. "Eventually we'll be adding brunch and the notion of sitting outside with everything in bloom makes us really happy."
Doak hopes the new garden will be ready in June, and will keep blankets on hand for chillier evenings.
