Autumn Martin reports that her adored Ballard dessert destination Hot Cakes will open its new Capitol Hill location in July, guaranteeing a spirited shakes kind of summer. The new 2,200-square-foot outpost at B&O Espresso's longtime address (1650 East Olive Way) will seat around 50 and offer its standard menu, as well as more space, more milkshakes, and (gloriously) more of the abovementioned booze-infused shakes and cocktails than Martin's Ballard store.
What could make this better? The patio and another sweet Seattle fire pit which, if all necessary permits go through, she hopes to build out for s'mores making. Is it summer yet?
