After seven years, Wallingford’s Sutra vegetarian restaurant and the next door Sutra Yoga will close at the end of September and end of May, respectively. After learning last spring that the neighboring buildings will be torn down to erect apartments, the two couples who co-own the upscale, prix-fixe, farm-to-table restaurant—Colin Patterson and Amber Tande, and Aaron and Jan Geible—elected not to look for another space.

Patterson (Sutra’s head chef, formerly of Blossoming Lotus on Kauaii) and Tande will move to Leavenworth in the fall where they eventually plan to open another restaurant and yoga studio, and the Geibles will open a restaurant called Harvest Beat in Seattle, its details so far undecided.

To celebrate their last summer in Seattle, the team will be hosting two large farm-to-table dinners at Sutra Farm in Monroe (which they also plan to sell in the fall). Tande says that she and Patterson also plan to stay connected in Seattle after they leave, hosting pop-up dinners and yoga workshops here in the coming year.
