Starbucks has gone petite. Now through July 6, the coffee behemoth is selling Frappuccinos in a 10-ounce size—down two ounces (and 20 to 30 cents) from their previous smallest offering, the 12-oz tall. Per KOMO News, the new Mini Frappuccino was tested last year in select regions, and according to Katie Seawell, senior vice president of category brand management at Starbucks, it did well, helping lift overall store sales.
What will this mean for calories and sugar? It will vary based on flavor, but the mini coffee Frappuccino with no whipped cream has 120 calories and 24 grams of sugar, KOMO reports. That compares with 180 calories and 36 grams of sugar in a 12-oz tall, and 240 calories and 50 grams of sugar in a 16-oz grande. You're sure you want to ask about the 20-ounce venti? 350 calories and 69 grams of sugar.
Starbucks has yet to decide if it will offer the wee size permanently.
