Frelard newcomer Giddy Up Burgers and Greens already impressed Eater as the crowd's runner up favorite burger spot in Seattle in our Burger Battle last month, and now it's upping its game again. Just in time for Memorial Day weekend (and what's forecasted now to be a gor-geous Thursday and Friday, at least), Giddy Up will launch its newly renovated covered 1,500-square-foot patio this Thursday.

Since the restaurant by Paul Mendez and three partners just opened last August, the refreshed patio is in some ways a completion of Giddy Up's construction. The patio will have the same number of seats as before (55, plus can accommodate 100+ standing), but will now feature a flatscreen TV (more are on the way), a film over the windows to reduce the greenhouse effect, and the real highlight: three clear garage doors which will go up on warm days to bring fresh air into the dining room. Eventually, Mendez and co plan to add five garage doors in all, replacing the entire wall that separates the patio and dining room. Summer is official in just a month. Where are you eating this long weekend?
