Woodinville's newest brewery has opened near Redhook off Highway 202, reports the Washington Beer Blog. Sumerian Brewing is owned by husband-and-wife team Mark and Holly Ihrig, with Woodinville native Tyson Schiffner responsible for the brewing. Schiffner got his start in beer at Redhook, made a brief foray into wine, and then got scooped up by Sumerian.

Sumerian is hosting a grand opening party June 27 at noon, though they're pouring beers now. By all accounts, the taproom is inviting, and there's ample outdoor seating. The brewery doesn't have a kitchen but they'll host food trucks regularly. On tap now are two stouts, a pilsner, an ISA, and an IPA.
